My ability to catch up continues as the pandemic persisted, with travel restricted and restaurants closed. THere were some restaurants I visited last year in London that I never got around to writing up until now. I remembered a little more detail of the experiences, but still, a lot was forgotten in terms of the meal experience.
The chef behind this restaurant, Dabiz Muñoz, has a renowned Michelin-starred restaurant called DiverXO in Madrid. The restaurant had a Madrid vibe to it. I was able to sit at the counter overlooking the kitchen. For the full write-up, click here.
I decided to dine here because it’s highly rated and I could never get into The Fat Duck back then (I eventually made it there and write-up is forthcoming). The restaurant is in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Knightsbridge in a large space. There wasn’t a chef’s counter for dining though, and there was no tasting menu. For the full write-up, click here.
The chef used to have a smaller, very trendy restaurant called Dabbous. This is obviously a bigger venture (along with the more casual restaurant downstairs. Additionally, there is a partnership with Hedonism, a very posh wine shop in Mayfair, and any wine can be brought from there to the restaurant , if desired (the list is extensive).
